Abstract
Anxiety is an important topic in today’s society. Considered one of the most common mental illnesses in the United States, anxiety affects many people, including children. Children and adolescents are especially at a high risk of anxiety with pressures of school, social, and home life. Interventions for this population are of great importance to support and promote positive development. The manual presented in this project will address this need for intervention with a school-based counseling small group for elementary-aged children dealing with anxiety, with the objective that this intervention will have a positive effect in normalizing anxiety and help students recognize and manage feelings of anxiety.
