Abstract

Classroom Management is one of the most important aspects of teaching in today’s world. The amount of time spent on trying to correct disruptive behavior is taking away from valuable instructional teaching time. Positive Reinforcement is becoming more popular in schools with program like, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). From this study, I found using positive reinforcement like praise and “token systems” decrease the amount of disruptive behavior. Students become very motivated when there are individual rewards that they can earn for showing respectful behavior. After completing this study, I have realized the importance of having a positive classroom environment.
