Description
Non-fluent aphasia, often resulting from stroke or brain injury, severely impacts an individual's ability to communicate. Melodic Intonation Therapy (MIT) has been developed as a therapy technique that utilizes melody and rhythm to engage the brain’s right hemisphere and promote speech recovery. This literature review examined the effectiveness of MIT and how its variations impact expressive language recovery, as well as the need for greater research to refine its application in the clinical setting.
