Artist Bio
Rachel Herzog is an artist currently living in Moorhead, Minnesota. There she attends Minnesota State University Moorhead, where she is pursuing the final year of her BFA in Drawing and Illustration and minor in Art History. She entered her college years on the President's Honors Scholarship and the MSUM Freshman Talent Scholarship for her academic and artistic achievements. She recently received the Mary Brumby Alexander Scholarship through the MSUM Alumni Foundation for her recent portfolio work. Her work "Panoramas" is a small scale piece that represents a variety of miniature landscapes. Herzogseeks to make the viewer lean in close to catch all the small details. While making this piece, Herzogwas inspired by 19th-century Neo-Impressionism and the creation of pointillism, using the layering of ink dots to create the desired image with a technique called stippling.
