The inspiration for “Bait” was common trope of a pit covered in leaves that more often than not a protagonist at some point will fall into. The spark and the name for this piece was taken from the 2019 prompts for INKtober. INKtober is a yearly challenge for artists to create a work every day of the month of October based on prompts released by the creator of the challenge. Edwards used traditional ink and a dip pen on a recycled hand bound sketchbook to create “Bait.”
