Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine what limitations are held in students book choice when participating in the Accelerated Reader program. The research looks specifically at students reading level and book level correlations as well as what books are or are not included in the Accelerated Reading list. The study takes place in a fourth-grade classroom in a rural North Dakota public school. Students will complete an initial survey that will gauge their interest in reading a specific list of books. The consecutive surveys show how students interest changes as the survey reveals if the book is a part of the AR program and the books reading level.
