How to Make Inclusion Work in Your Preschool Program

Shelly Aldinger

Abstract

The goal of this website is to link effective classroom management strategies with quality inclusive practices in order to offer high quality preschool experiences for children with and without disabilities. Research has proven the numerous benefits for high quality inclusive practices including maximizing academic and social development as well as promoting lifelong learning. Research also reveals teachers know the value of positive classroom management strategies, yet they continue to use unsuccessful strategies. Effective classroom management strategies will build high quality inclusive classrooms. Through a series of self evaluation, action planning, and consultation, teachers will be able to build upon their strengths and set goals to strengthen their areas of need with support and consultation. All students deserve the right to high quality inclusive education and studies display the need for high quality inclusive environments. This website aims to give teachers more tools in their toolbox to make inclusion successful in their classroom.
