Abstract
The goal of this project is to assume the role of a financial analyst examining a firm’s performance for Urban Outfitters Inc. while using American Eagle Outfitters Inc. as a reference. By using accounting and financial measures, industry characteristics, and historical financial performance, I can make comparisons and assumptions regarding the companies previously mentioned.
When selecting Urban Outfitters Inc., I selected American Eagle Outfitters Inc. as the basis of comparison. The selection criteria included the following: 1) Urban Outfitters Inc. must be a public company that is either headquartered or incorporated in the Midwest region and be listed on the Russell 2000 Index and 2) American Eagle Outfitters Inc. must meet the same conditions while also have the same primary four-digit Standard Industrial Classification Code and historical analysis sales as Urban Outfitters Inc.
