Abstract
In this report, I assume the role of a financial analyst to give an investment recommendation to investors when it comes to Heartland Express, Inc. (HTLD) stock. This recommendation is based on historical financial analysis and valuation of HTLD while comparing it to one of its competitors, Marten Transport, LTD (MRTN). The financial analysis and valuation process takes company, industry, and market factors into consideration. The five most recent audited financial statements were used in this recommendation process. My valuation produced an estimated stock price for HTLD on 11/1/2020 of $18.74. According to my valuation, HTLD's stock is slightly undervalued as my calculated stock price is higher than the company's 11/1/2020 listed stock price of $18.31. I have determined a hold recommendation as my estimated stock price does not differ much from the listed stock price.
