Abstract
Abstract
Through engaging in extensive self-reflection, individuals are afforded the opportunity to develop a greater sense of self-awareness and understanding. Just as clients in the mental health field are encouraged to complete honest evaluations of themselves, providers must do the same on a consistent basis. The establishment of self-awareness creates a foundation for greater learning, empathy, and growth in both our personal and professional lives. Taking the time to delve into such deep levels of exploration takes a commitment to understanding aspects of ourselves that may be uncomfortable or difficult to process through. Regardless, the impact this project can have on open-minded individuals is unlimited in potential. For the purpose of this analysis of self, I have reflected upon my personal and professional experiences, explored an objective assessment, discussed the perspectives that others hold in my regard, reviewed the impacts of my coursework and theory, explored the impact this entire process has had on my development and have given considerations to my future endeavors.
Keywords: Self-awareness, reflection, development.
