Abstract
Heartland Express, Inc. is a truckload company that is analyzed against Werner Enterprises, Inc. within this report to ultimately arrive at a stock recommendation. The qualitative information of Heartland Express, Inc., in comparison to Werner Enterprises, Inc. suggests that Heartland Express, Inc. has a positive industry and firm outlook. The financial statement analysis gives mixed results, as Heartland Express, Inc. has adequate performance but pales in comparison to the Benchmark company. The valuation analysis concludes that the stock of Heartland Express, Inc. is reasonably valued, since the stock’s value and actual price are close. The combined analysis of the firm’s qualitative information, financial statement analysis, and valuation assumption aids in this report’s conclusion that the stock recommendation for Heartland Express, Inc. stock is Hold.
