Abstract
There are many reasons that LGBTQ+ youth need to be a focus within the education system, but it also important to explore the support that they receive when they leave school. Parents have many different reactions when they come to the realization that their child’s gender or sexual identity may differ from that of the majority. Therefore, it is equally important to support parents and guardians of LGBTQ+ youth. Through a school based group, support, education, and connections for parents/guardians of LGBTQ+ youth can be provided. With this program in place these LGBTQ+ children will ultimately benefit in a positive way.
