Abstract
This Analysis of Self reflects upon the influences and experiences in my life that have shaped me as an individual as well as a counselor. It is widely accepted within the counseling field that a counselor understanding themself has a positive impact on their therapeutic relationships. In this paper I have detailed influential events, relationships, and circumstances that have positively and negatively impacted my life journey. Through my struggles with mental health, I have grown to become an empathetic and passionately caring individual. My resilience through difficult situations has transformed into a desire to advocate and help others like me and work to prevent adolescent suicides.
