Description
Many people use computers and smart devices on the Internet of Thing (IoT) networks without truly understanding how they work or what they can do. Therefore, the purpose of this project was to demonstrate how edge devices used gateways to connect to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) IoT platform and show what the AWS IoT platform can do. For this project, a Raspberry Pi 4 will act as a Gateway for the robot that connects all the camera sensors, motion sensors, and temperature sensors to transfer those data to the AWS IoT platform for analytic purposes. The robot will have facial recognition that allows it to track and follow users while avoiding other objects in the environment. With the help of Amazon SageMaker, it is possible to train and deploy my machine-learning model to the robot very quickly. Users can use voice assistants like Alexa, or an Android application to make the robot perform a certain task. A Bluetooth speaker will also connect with the robot to allow users to get current temperate and humidity of a surrounding environment when they request. In conclusion, the IoT platform and cloud computing services like AWS is a great invention because it helps to speed up the development process of training a machine learning model and developing smart devices. With the help of could computing services, it opens a new area where a single developer could design such a large-scale smart devices project in just a few months.
