Abstract

A classroom teacher is expected to teach all of their students in their classroom regardless of the wide range of abilities. This can seem like an insurmountable task when you have students who are not able to complete grade level tasks and are in fact several grade levels below their peers. Students with moderate to severe disabilities will require curriculum accommodations and modifications to be successful in the general education classroom alongside their peers. There are several ways to effectively educate students with moderate to severe disabilities within the general education curriculum. The purpose of this project was to create professional development training for general education teachers to be trained on modifying the curriculum for students with disabilities.
