Biography
John Wentz was born in Woodrow, Saskatchewan, Canada. He graduated from Enderlin, ND high school an attended Jamestown College. He entered the US Merchant Marine in February 1944 and was discharged in 1945. He trained as a communications officer and served on the Otis Skinner and William T Sherman out of San Francisco and Seattle. He participated in Layte, Lingayan Golf and Okinowa Campaigns. After the military he worked in hardware retail and life insurance industries.
