Biography
Eugene Holm was born in Watertown, SD and graduated Tulare High School in 1940. He attended Augustana College in SD and then was drafted into the Army in 1943. His military training included Air Corps Basic and Army Basic. Some of his duties while in the military included 66th Infantry Division Company “G” and Flight 27, Lincoln Air Base Basic. Eugene was also involved in 44th Division on the front lines in France and fought in “Northwind” which was a major defensive battle that was fought at the time of the Battle of the Bulge to prevent Germany from reinforcing the Danzers at the bulge. After separation from the military Eugene was employed as a rural mail carrier for 46 years. Decorations: -Purple Heart - Bronze Star -Combat Fighting Badge -Good Conduct -ETO Ribbon
